Farewell Bob Holness, first ever James Bond,
(radio play—Moonraker—’56)
your patience with the resin addled minds

from Britain’s dullest Polytechnics
will always be respected and admired,
the rest of us would hang the limp haired pricks.

A true professional, you never tired
of the old quip, “I’ll have a P please Bob!”
You remained Bond–esque with your smart attire

although the hairy Scotsman took your job.
Now that you are no longer alive,
we’ll make like the end credit, student mob

and salute you with one final hand jive.

Ain’t I got better things to do on a grey January afternoon than research Bob Holness?
