Canto CXCI

You’ll never know how ecstatic I was
when I found out you were a little girl
and come the day I take you to my arms

I’d love to tell you that this is your world . . .
but that’s not true, the same patriarchy
is clinging on to power and so you’ll

have to stick it to the oldschool pricks that seek
to put paid to your reproductive rights
and condescending liberal pricks like me.

This world’s not mine to give, deny or let,
but it is yours to take by force or guile.
So eschew talk of destiny or fate,

straight tracks are only good for getting stalled,
it’s best to be a lover and a fighter,
you might just tip the scales but most of all

you’ll be your own woman and no man’s daughter.

Still talking to Rosy and what you’re telling her is sadly true.
Different means different, not better or worse.
And in that difference lies the beauty and allure of women.

Misogyny is male insecurity, a sign of weakness. It stereotypes women.
Give me women who are lovers and fighters…much more fun.
