Now that I hear that cold and heavy rain
are God’s gift to the Golden Jubilee
I think of all those plebs along the the Thames
and might just watch the whole thing on TV.

Plebs? A tad elitist.

So, on the elitist chart, where does the use of the word plebs come in relation to, oh I don’t know, monarchism?

To say that monarchism is archaic and undemocratic can be backed by reasoned argument, whilst to call misguided people you disagree with “Plebs” is a tad elitist…it’s the kind of thing that Boris Johnson would say. 🙂

Peter, you do realise that this is a poem and not a political pamphlet. I couldn’t fit “willfully enslaved sycophants buying into the celebration of human inequality and anachronistic privilege for some TV fairy dust that they paid for in a time when the underpriveleged are being punished by ideology inspired cuts” into the scansion.
